Welcome to Lochside Lodges, Barcaldine
Located twelve miles north of Oban in the North Lorne area of Argyll, our two self catering, seaside chalets are situated on an elevated site almost at the water's edge. Both have wonderful views across Loch Creran, north through the Strath of Appin and westwards to the hills of Morvern and Mull.
They are close to the waymarked walks in Barcaldine Forest and the recently extended Sustrans Cycle Route 78.
In the bay in front of the lodges are moorings which are leased on a seasonal basis to yacht owners who come to sail on some of the best cruising waters in Europe. Our neighbours at Creran Marine have full boatyard and mooring facilities.
Most of us go on holiday to leave the stresses of modern living behind, to relax and enjoy a change of environment. You will undoubtedly achieve that objective here. Soon the soporific west coast air will work its magic and 'mañana' will become all too immediate. Here there are no phones to answer no appointments to keep. Suddenly there is all the time in the world.
There are so many interesting places to visit and things to do in the area but at the end of the day it's great to curl up by the window to follow the comings and goings of the yachts, sea mammals and birds, or just to gaze across the loch with its ever changing moods.
